Italy daydreams

I have been home from Italy for a couple of weeks now, and I just can’t seem to get used to everything american again. There are so many things that I miss about being abroad!

One thing that I am really missing is the food. I’m sure that is something everyone says because it is truly that amazing. Being able to stay in one city for a month really helps you learn how to find the best food in the area!

Of course, I also wish I could still get to everything in walking distance. In Florence I could walk to everything from groceries, gelato, to high end shopping, and even to all the museums I wanted to see. It takes me 45 minutes to get to my internship at home, and I technically walk to Target from my house, but I would probably get run over by a car. Who wouldn’t want to grab gelato and look at the Duomo every day?

And then there’s the wine. It’s driving me crazy that I can’t find the types of wine that I want here. I could buy a bottle of prosecco for 5 euro, and here it is 13 dollars! I also love the way that Italians paired their wines with food. It made me realize I love a good glass of red wine, particularly chianti, with steak.

I am also really missing all of my friends. When you are abroad, there are always people to adventure with or to go out with. I made so many amazing friends and memories.

And while it does feel nice to be home, It would be great if my whole life could transfer over to Italy. Is that too much to ask?
