Its that time of year. Everyone is making a resolution that they want to keep, and I can bet, two weeks into the new year, that a lot of us have already given up on them. I think that is really important to make resolutions, but instead of making tough resolutions that we won’t keep, why can’t they be fun?
My Thursday 3 this week is all about the resolutions that I came up for myself and you can totally start these anytime!
1.) Do something active at least 2 times a week, and try something new once a week. I am a really active person and like to do spin classes and go to yoga, I sometimes find myself hopping on the elliptical at the gym for 45 minutes just to get a workout in. This year I want to do more. This doesn’t mean that you need to get a gym membership!
What I want to do, is try out different classes like Zumba or a crossfit class. And so many places offer free classes to try out! If I really like one of them, I might decide to join that gym. But I also want to get out and hike, which is usually something that you can do for free! There is nothing better than going to get fresh air in the middle of winter. I even want to work on adding new exercises to my routine, and it’s so easy to do that with Pinterest. This resolution is so much easier than saying, “join the gym” especially if you don’t like a traditional gym setting! (Side note:I need these sneakers!)
2.) Make a new recipe each week. I love to cook and bake, at home and at school; but I always make my favorites over and over again. (Taco casserole is a staple at school)! But, there are so many easy things that we can make that are fun! I have so many BuzzFeed Tasty videos saved on my Facebook wall that need to be made this semester! (And thank god I have my Fat Fighters for when I make the desserts I have saved!) I think that everyone should be able to cook the basics, and I love to cook it relaxes me after a busy day! The recipe for tonight? Seafood Risotto!
3.) Be Brave. Bravery is my word/verb for 2016! I know that overall I am a brave person, but I want to really concentrate on myself this year, and be the best person that I can be. I want to try so many new things this year, and I plan to check them all off! (I’ll be documenting my 2016 bucket list next week so give me some ideas!) So pick a word for yourself to follow this year. When I think to myself, “maybe I shouldn’t go try that,” I want my bravery to tell me to go do it!
I hope that everyone has had a great start to their new year! Tell me about your resolutions and how you want to keep them!
