Blending up Breakfast

I love breakfast. If I have time to go out to breakfast or whip up some waffles I will.I mean, look at that french toast! I would love to eat that everyday… It wouldn’t be the healthiest choice, but the yummiest!

But during the week I do try to eat healthier and not indulge as much! I also need something to hold me over until lunch! I hate being hungry hours before I can eat. So what’s my day to day breakfast look like?

Going Bananas!

It’s one of those days that I feel overwhelmed with everything that is going on! I only have 3 more semesters of school, and I move back in tomorrow. Of course I procrastinated and didn’t pack what I needed to, I had a busy week. Or at least that will be my excuse when I am running around the house getting ready to go!

And speaking of bananas I made these beauties this morning! (recipe below!)

5 Reasons you NEED to Study Abroad with your sisters

My post is up on Select Study Abroad! But I wanted to share it with all of you! If you’re and ADPi or Alpha Phi you can go on this trip!

Going abroad is something that every college student should do. When else in your life are you going to have the chance to live in another country for a long period of time, explore, eat great food, and learn all the unique features of another culture? Probably not anytime soon, and lets be honest we don’t want to do it when we retire…
The same thing can be said about being in a sorority! After you join your chapter it becomes comfortable and you never really feel the need to branch out and meet new people. But you have sisters all over the country! You never know who you could meet.
So why not make the best of both situations and go abroad…with your sisters?

Need more convincing?
We have 5 reasons why you need to!

1. The sisters that you will meet abroad are more like you than you think.
Your chapter doesn’t define what your organization stands for, and while your sisters all share the same values as you do, the women who join you abroad have even more in common with you. Spending so much time with your sisters abroad makes you close in a short amount of time. You really start to feel like some of these women are becoming your best friends. And even when the trip ends, it’s amazing to think that you now have friends all over the country.IMG_9224BW

My Thursday 3…

Hi everyone! So I want to introduce my new weekly post, My Thursday 3! Talking about my top three favorites of the week. From food, to fashion and everything in between I am super excited to start this!

In the past few months I have been obsessed with a few brands, I can’t seem to get them off of my mind. I am constantly going onto the website to check out what is new, and what I wish I could add to my closet. And there is one that I can’t seem to stop looking at… so luckily I don’t have to!

  1. Tiffany and Co. I know that I am one of those girls that is always looking to see the different cuts of Tiffany rings for my future engagement, but little did I know that my obsession with the brand would lead to an amazing surprise by my boyfriend! IMG_9250 Continue reading

Italy daydreams

I have been home from Italy for a couple of weeks now, and I just can’t seem to get used to everything american again. There are so many things that I miss about being abroad!

One thing that I am really missing is the food. I’m sure that is something everyone says because it is truly that amazing. Being able to stay in one city for a month really helps you learn how to find the best food in the area!

Of course, I also wish I could still get to everything in walking distance. In Florence I could walk to everything from groceries, gelato, to high end shopping, and even to all the museums I wanted to see. It takes me 45 minutes to get to my internship at home, and I technically walk to Target from my house, but I would probably get run over by a car. Who wouldn’t want to grab gelato and look at the Duomo every day?

And then there’s the wine. It’s driving me crazy that I can’t find the types of wine that I want here. I could buy a bottle of prosecco for 5 euro, and here it is 13 dollars! I also love the way that Italians paired their wines with food. It made me realize I love a good glass of red wine, particularly chianti, with steak.

I am also really missing all of my friends. When you are abroad, there are always people to adventure with or to go out with. I made so many amazing friends and memories.

And while it does feel nice to be home, It would be great if my whole life could transfer over to Italy. Is that too much to ask?

New year, new name!

Hi everyone!

I recently changed the name of my blog from Sorority Scoop, to Pearls and New England Girls. I am super excited to continue my blog my junior year of school, but I wanted to make some changes!

I will still be keeping you updated on all things sorority related, but I wanted to add more stories to my blog as well! There are so many things that I want to write about, but I felt restricted to what I could say with my other blog! I really hope that you will still follow my blog, because I am only going to make it better!

Thanks for supporting me, and I hope you like some of my new content!

Falling in love with Select Study and Florence!

Ciao sisters!

I hope that the weather in the US is as nice as it is over in Italy! The first week here has been so amazing! I have already made so many great friends and I am so lucky to be here with so many sisters!

DSC_0360The ADPi and Alpha Phi mix has been so great and we are having so much fun together! I don’t feel that homesick because I am with so many sisters and we are getting to know each other so quickly!

These past 5 days have been amazing, we have done everything from wine tasting, to seeing the leaning tower of Pisa, and of course, exploring Florence!

There is no way that I will ever want to leave this wonderful country! All of the pastas and gelato have been amazing, and of course, pairing wines with dinner has been so fun!

If you are ever thinking about going abroad, going with a friend or sister would be the best way to go! It makes the transition so much easier and it makes it more fun!

End of the semester checklist

I only have 2 weeks left of school! I really can’t believe that spring semester is over and that summer is right around the corner! I am so excited for summer, but I am also going to miss all of my friends at school and my sisters.

I came up with a checklist of things that anyone can do with their sisters during this hectic time of the year! Its not hard to take a study break for an hour, or two, and see your sisters for the last time before summer!

✔️ Go out on a fro yo date! I have a fro yo place like 2 minutes from my campus and it is such a good stress reliever, and its “healthy” so its the perfect brain food that you need during a study break! o-FROZEN-YOGURT-facebook

✔️Late study night? Go to your local diner to grab something to eat! We have a great diner that everyone loves to go to, and it is perfect because it is open 24/7! There is no way that I can make it past 12am without a second dinner!

✔️To refuel later on in the day, get a group of sisters to go to Starbucks with you! During finals we all need a Venti iced coffee or frappichino by our side to make sure that we can concentrate! My new favorites are the hibiscus and passionfruit teas! They are so good.

✔️Study on your quad! It is getting nicer out, kind of! There is always time to go outside and get fresh air instead of being stuck inside in your library cubby!

✔️Go to the last sisterhood event that you have this semester! Our positive pi pics were a great way to end the semester and I think that it really made everyone feel that our chapter is getting an even stronger sisterhood!

Shopping on Rodeo Drive

IMG_0059Shopping in Cali is the best. There are so many designers and different places to go, and they’re so close! We went to Rodeo drive the other day and I was in designer heaven. They have everything from Gucci, to Burberry, and really anything that you can think of in-between.

I also went to Villa Blanca, one of Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It was a pretty good restaurant, but for sisters that love the show, the restaurant was not my favorite! The service was great but the food was not as good as I thought that it would be! We got a few specialty pizza’s, salad, and an appetizer of calamari. I like watching Vanderpump rules better than eating there.

After lunch I decided to go shopping more, and I am always thinking of spring and fun dresses, so I ended up getting a cute dress from Guess! I can’t wait to wear it during recruitment! I loved the raincoats that Burberry had, and some of the great new sandals that Tory Burch had, but I will have to wait until it’s actually summer to get those!

I’ll be going back into cold weather tomorrow which stinks so much! I don’t want to leave and go back but I guess I can look forward to it getting warmer soon!
